October 14—Drover, brig, 173 tons, Stephen, for Newcastle, N.S.W. ENGLISH SHIPPING. Full particulars have come to hand by the mail regarding the passages of the fleet of vessels which left the colony early in May last, and it will be seen from the subjoined account that the race was won by the Oamaru, from Dunedin, the Hurunui, from Wellington, being second Oamaru, from Dunedin, sailed May 6th, reported 28th July; 83 days. Hurunui, from Wellington, sailed May I2tb, reported 10th August; 89 days. May Queen, from Dunedin, sailed May 3rd, reported 3rd August; 93 days. , Otaki, from Bluff, sailed May 6th, reported 10th August; 96 days, „ . „ • Crusader, from Lyttelton, sailed May 6th, reported 11th August; 97 days. Sonkar, from Lyttelton, sailed May 6th, reported 21st August; 107 days. The Hopeful, which also left Lyttelton on 6tn May, is cabled under date Ist September, as having arrived after a passage of about 117 days. The Hurunui and Crusader spoke one another on the Line, and remained in company 37 days. Tha Otaki was detained In the Channel for 14 days by calms and light winds.
