(From our own Correspondent). Dunedin, October 13.

At police court to-day Mr Fish said that the prosecutor in the case of Stampre versus Wilson bad addressed a document to the Bench accusing them of being guilty of a miscarriage of justice. Such remarks, Mr Fish said, were extremely indecent, but when emanating from a gentleman of the law, were trebly indecent. He was astonished to find a professional gentleman guilty of such impertinence, and had the remarks been made in open court, it would have been the duty of the Bench to have unflinchingly committed him for contempt of court. The document, which is a gem in its way, was handed by the Bench for pub lication.

The Otago railway returns for September amounted to £9255.
