MAGISTRATES' COURTS.
CHRISTUHURCH. Friday, October 13. (Before G. L. Lee, and Percy Cox, Esqs, J.P.'s.)
Drunk and Disorderly.—Two inebriates, arrested lor being drunk at the railway station, were lined 10s each; and one was ordered to pay Is cab fare. Another inebriate was fined fis. Jane MacMahon, who had been remanded, as she stated when before the Court that her passage had been taken to Auckland, auain appeared, and said she had been disappointed, as the schooner
she was to sail by had not arrived. Accused handed in a card showing that she had joined a temperance association to abstain for twelve months, and the Bench discharged her, expressing a hope that she would keep the pledge taken.
LYTTELTON. Friday, October 13. (Before W. Donald, Esq, 8.M.) Illegally on Premises—James Eliott and William Connors were brought up charged with being illegally on board the barque Espeigle. The captain gave evidence to the effect that the accused were creating a disturbance on board up to a late hour last night. The Bench sentenced Connors to one week's imprisonment and dismissed Eliott with a caution.
