made to get the postal cards to bear a halfpenny stamp instead of a penny, but without avail, large majorities being against it. The Bill passed unaltered. COUNTIES BILL. Considerable discussion ensued on the motion to go into committee on the Counties Bill, various details introduced into the amended Bill being taken exception to. Ultimately it was agreed to accept the amendments made in the old Bill, pro forma, and allow progress to be reported. The Bill is to be re-committed on Tuesday (to-day). EDUCATION BILL. The Education Boards Bill, which is a temporary measure to carry on education throughout the colony for a year, was read a second time. The House adjourned at 1.15.
