Saturday, September 23. For Otago, per Hawea, at 11.35 a.m; late letters, 11.55 a.m ; railway station, 12.25 p.m. train. Monday, September 25. Mails per Arawata close as under:— 7 For the United Kingdom, via Southampton and Brindisi, at 1 p.m; late letters, 1.20 p.m. For the Continent of Europe—viz, France, Italy or Trieste, Western Australia, Point de Galle, India, China, and the East, Aden, Mauritius, Reunion, Natal, Cape of Good Hope, Suez, the Mediterranean Ports, America, &c, at 12.40 p.m; late letters, 1 p.m. For Southern Provinces and Australian Colonies, at 1 p.m; late letters, 1.20 p.m. Registered letters and money orders, at noon. Posting books and newspapers, at 12.30 p.m. Important.—Late letters for mails per Arawata can be posted in the guard’s van, railway station, by 2.30 p.m. train, provided that such letters bear, in addition to the full postage, a further single rate of postage as a late fee. Late letters must not be posted at the iron pillar receiver at the railway station, nor must they be posted in the ordinary posting boxes in the Chief Post Office, Christchurch.
