* The Customs revenue collected on Wednesday was as follows„

At the sale by auction of town and rural land, held at the Waste Lands Office on Wednesday, the amount realised was £1523 3s 6d. The amount received yesterday at the usual Bitting of the Waste Lands Board was £1986 9s. Mr Joseph Beswick reports that in consequence of the Rangiora horse fair being held on Thursday, the entries at the Kaiapo* yards were small, the attendance, however, was fair, and the lots submitted realised good prices. About 30 pigs met with purchasers at from 5s 9d to 465.
