MR W. G. GRACE’S GREAT SCORE AT GRIMSBY.

Mr Good, hon secretary of the Worslcy Cricket Club, sends the following to Sporting Life :—I have pleasure in forwarding you a few particulars anent Mr W. Q, Grace's marvellous innings and the mammoth score amassed by the United South in the recent match at Grimsby. The wickets of the South fell as follows : 12345 6 789 10 85 123 282 562 568 577 579 618 642 675 Mr W. G. Grace’s score was made as follows ;—Four 6’s, twenty-one 4’a, six 3’s, fifty eight 2’s, and 158 singles. The bowling was up to the average (mostly amateur), the wicket perfection ; but Mr Grace’s play was acknowledged by all present (including the members of the South team) to be such as they never before witnessed. He gave no chance whatever during the first and second days. On the third he gave two easy ones, viz, to short-slip and long-leg, but he had then scored 350 runs. Altogether he was at the wickets during the three days thirteen hours and a half, and had no less than fifteen bowlers in turn opposed to him,
