F, Barker reports having privately disposed of the Benmore Run, of 9500 acres, with 3500 sheep, to Mr Matthew Wier, for £1700; and at an auction sale, held at Coalgate, the sale of a number of sections in that township, at prices averaging £42 per acre. At the first of the monthly sales at the new yards, Sheffield, 20 horses, 30 head of cattle, springing cows and heifers, good steers and young stock, and 500 sheep were yarded for various owners, as also a number of implements. Sales were effected of horses and cattle at good prices, and sheep fetched 8s 9d and 9s for ewes, and 9s 9d fbr wethers.
