COMMERCIAL.
Messrs Clifford and Eoper report on their usual usual weekly sale of live stock September 9th, as follows -.—Cows, none yarded; calves, 7s 6d to Ils ; plus, weaners, 5s 6d to 7s ; small stores, 8s to 10s 6d • stores, 15s to 275; sows, 20sJ to 345, Supply quite equal to former sales; demand good, principally for weaners and small stores. Poultry, per pair, fowls, 2s 3d to ss; ducks, 6s to 6s 3d ; geese, 9s i turkeys, 8s 6d to 12s. Good attendance.
Mr H. E. Alport report having- sold at the Addington Cattle Yards, on Wednesday last, springing heifers and cows, at £6 to £9 ss. The demand for dairy cattle is not so good as It was two months ago, but full rates continue to be paid for fat and young store cattle. Eat cows and heifers, light to medium weights, brought from £9 5s to £l2 ; 15 to 18 months old sieers and heifers, moderate quality, £3 10s 6d. The fat sheep yarded were of excellent quality, and prices showed a slight advance on previous week’s rates. Very prime merino wethers sold at ils 6d to 12s; heavy crossbreds, 14s 6d to 15s 6d ; medium weights, 10s 6d to 138. Quotations for beef and mutton unaltered.
