The Board took into consideration the petition in reference to the above footpath, which was deferred at last meeting until a report had been furnished by the surveyor, and, after considerable discussion, it was resolved to invite tenders for the formation of about fifty chains of the path, viz, from the railway crossing to Jack son’s road. The assessor handed in the new rate roll, with a report, stating that there was no material change in the value of land in the district since last valuation was made, except where it had improved in quality by the operations of the Drainage Board, but that the total assessment of the district was increased in consequence of the numerous additional buildings in the suburban portions of the district. The monthly report was read and approved, and after passing accounts for work done and other routine business, the Board adjourned until Monday, the 2nd October.
