Complimentary Dinner at Kaiapoi —On Wednesday evening several of the farmers of this district entertained Mr John Strachan, late of Cherry’s ford farm, at a dinner given at Monk’s Kaikanui Hotel. There was a good attendance. The spread in every way did credit to the hotel. Mr W. M. Rosa occupied the chair. Principal among the toasts was one wishing Mr Strachan a pleasant and safe voyage to the mother country, and a speedy return. Toasts and songs in rapid succession tended to make the affaira very enjoyable one,
