AMUSEMENTS.
THE LYDIA HOWARDE TROUPE. There was a good attendance at the Music Hall last evening, when the burlesque of " Ivanhoe" was repeated for the last time, The piece was capitally played, and the music ineidental to the burlesque was well rendered and much appreciated by the audience. The length of time "Ivanhoe" has been before the public is conclusive evidence of the estimation in which it is held by those who nightly assemble to witness its performance, and shows that opera-bouffe and the present company have made a decided hit in Christchurch. To-night, "The Beggar's Opera" and " The Day After the Wedding " will be produced, when we have no doubt the hall will be well filled. We published the plot of the opera on Thursday evening, added to which the management have very wisely published the same in connection with their evening programmes. To-morrow afternoon there will be a ■matinee held for the convenience of families and schools, when the extravaganza of "The White Cat" will be produced for the amusement of the little folk, whom we feel certain will enjoy the burlesque immensely. Doors will be open at half-past two o'clock.
