US TERPRO VINCI AL. Auckland, August 22. The National Bank has received a cable telegram announcing a dividend of 6 per cent. The report was adopted. The adjourned meeting of Mr Tonks’s committee adopted the following resolutions —“(1) You are elected not to truckle to Ministers in hope of gaining some paltry temporary advantages for Auckland, but to unflinchingly and unswervingly follow line of policy stated by Sir George Grey at meeting of Auckland members yesterday. (2) That your committee strongly disapprove of the course you have adopted, but hope it was an error of judgment on your part. (3) Should your views have changed since your election, your committee calls upon you to resign at once, in order that a member may be elected who will carry out the wishes of the people of Auckland City West ; further, the meeting is of opinion that your telegram is unsatisfactory.” Captain Burgess, pilot, intends to take proceedings against Captain Ferries of the Zealandia, for his conduct towards him when his vessel came into this port, and his refusal to give him charge of the ship. Information respecting the wreck seen floating bottom upwards, leaves no doubt that it is the schooner Clematis. Dunedin, August 22. Seventy unemployed have sent in applications for stonebreaking. The Government advertise, offering employment to all wanting it.
