?ale of Imported Dogs, &o.—The sale yesterday by Mr Hawkes of the high pedigree dogs, prize fowls, &c, imported from Tasmania, attracted a very large attendance, amongst whom we noticed many well known fanciers on the look out for fresh blood. The fowls, which comprised silver and golden pencilled and spangled Polands, Hamburghs, duckwing, bantams, black Spanish, &c. These averaged £3 5s per pair. The canaries, very fine birds indeed, realised from £2 to £1 ss. The dogs, with the exception of the Irish S3tter, did not fetch remarkably good prices; for this Mr Hawkes got £lB. The retriever spaniel pups brought £4 10s each, and a field spaniel £4. For the greyhounds an average of £4 was realised for the dogs, and £1 12j(Jd for the pups. The other birdssold realised fair prices, and generally the Bale was a satisfactory one to the vendor
