The West Country papers report the death of Mr Alfred Angel, who succeeded Dr Wesley as organist of Exeter Cathedral. From France we hear that M. Penan has just published a volume of li Philosophical Dialogues and Fragments.” Michelet’s posthumous works, which are to be edited by his widow very shortly, are said to be in some parts reviews of Comtist philosophy. A number of French students have opened a subscription in the Quarter Latin for the erection of a statue to Michelet, They have addressed a petition to the Government to allow the memorial to be placed in ino of the squares of the university quarter of the town,
