AMUSEMENTS.
THE LYDIA HOWARDS TROUPE. “Nemesis” was again produced at the Music Hall last night, and drew a crowded house. Miss Howarde as Rosalie, was again in splendid voice, and secured a most enthusiastic encore for her singing of “Bid me discourse.” Miss Jennie Nye as the young soldier, and Miss Navaro as Praline, were also both in good voice, and sang and acted with much fervour and taste, the former lady securing an encore for “Her bright smile,” whilst the latter lady also gained a similar compliment. The chorus, “ What mystery,” was very fairly given, and the “ Quarrel scene ” especially so, and the remainder of the music was very well rendered, showing the company spare no pains in endeavoring to please their patrons. Mr Cary’s “Death of Nelson” was a fine piece of vocalisation, and drew forth the hearty plaudits of the audience. Messrs Towle, Hill, and Power were most happy in their parts, the other members of the company ably supporting the leading characters. The same programme will be repeated this evening.
