Dunedin Mayoralty Election.— Saturday’s Daily Times says:—“The polling for the election of mayor for the city of Dunedin took place yesterday. The candidates were Messrs Walter, Reeves, and Woodland. The result was that Messrs Reeves and Woodland polled 842 each Mr Walter having scarcely half that number recorded in his favour. As the returning officer has no power to give a casting vote in such cases, the proceedings will have to be commenced de novo. There is to be no further scrutiny of the ballot papers, and yesterday’s declaration will bo regarded as ftnal.”
