MAGISTRATES’ COURTS.
CHRISTCHURCH. Tuesday, July 25, (Before G. L. Mellish, Esq, R,M.) Drunk and Disorderly.—Hugh O’Neill for this offence was fined 20s. Using Obscene Language.— John Geir, charged with using obscene language near the Music Hall the previous night was fined 10s. LYTTELTON. Tuesday, July 25, (Before W. Donald, Esq., R.M.) Vagrancy. John Morris was charged with this offence. The case was remanded till to-morrow for further evidence. Drunkenness. Thomas Hetherington alias “Piccolo Charlie,” arrested by Constable Devine, was dismissed with a caution, Breach of Borough Bye Laws.— John Cole was charged with allowing his trap to stand on the road, causing an obstruction. J. Coombridge, fora similar offence, were both fined 10s and 4s costs. R. Smith, for allowing his trap to stand in London street, was fined 5s and 4s costs. Cattle Trespass. —Edward Banks was fined Ssjand 4s costs forhaving a horse at large; Wm Tonkin, for having a goat astray, was fined 5s and 4s costs; Wm Pitcaithly, for having two horses astray, was fined 10s and 5s costs. Breach op Police Ordinance.—Wm McKtever, for having meat exposed for sale overhanging the footpath in Loudon street, was fined 5s and 4s costs.
