The Topsail schooner Flying Cloud, hence, arrived at Hokitika on July Bth; she will load timber for this port. The fine brig Clematis was notified in the Hobart papers to leave that port for Lyttelton as to-day, carrying passengers and cargo. The barque Southern Cross was on the berth for Dunedin ; she was to leave on the 12th ult. The brig Mayflower, hence May 23rd, arrived at Adelaide on June 24th. The schooner Elizabeth Conway is shortly expected from Poverty Bay. timber laden. The barquentine Prince Alfred, under the command of Captain Schenkell (late of the schooner Jessie), cleared the Customs yesterday for Kaipara. The barque Natal Queen arrived at Newcastle, from Auckland, on July 3rd. The Amateur sailed for Timaru July 3rd. The Indian Chief, from Lyttelton, arrived at Adelaide on June 29th. The Queen of the South arrived at Adelaide on June 26th. The Moa left Newcastle for Timaru on June 28th. • The ketch Sarah and Mary arrived at the Waitara from the West Coast three days ago, coal laden, on discbarge of which she proceeds to Kaipara to load timber for this port. The brigantine Excelsior, from Wellington, proceeds to Picton for a cargo of timber for here. The schooners Minnehaha and Peri will, on on discharge, load for Auckland. The schooner Hine Moa. for Waikato Heads, produce laden, sailed yesterday. The Fairlie, on her arrival, will load for Auckland. The brig Star of Mersey, for Newcastle, and briSantine Elizabeth Curie, for Nelson, sailed yester• ay. The private letters of a lady passenger by the Yorkshire, from Melbourne to London, give parti - - pillars of the burning of the ship St Raphael, and the rescue of the crew on the 31st of January, after rounding Cape Horn. The crew of the St Raphael were twenty-seven days in boats, aud suffered acutely from a short supply of provisions and the cold.—Exchange, The Union Company's s. Ladybird, Captain Griffiths, arrived at 5 p.m last night, and was moored at the Screw Pile Jetty. Left Wellington ■t 4 p.m on Wednesday, and had strong head wind and S.E sea against her, arriving as above; her ■ailing is postponed till 1 p.m to-day. The following telegram appeared in an Adelaide paper of June 24th, dated London, May 2lst:—" On the arrival of the steamer Lessing, from New York, Captain Stoddart, the late master of the Skerry vore, was arrested on landing, upon a telegram from New York, charging him with scuttling his vessel." Messrs McMeckan, Blackwood's steamer Otago, Captain Calder, arrived at the Port Chalmers Railway Pier at 5 am, on the 11th—5 days 12 hours from Melbourne, via Bluff. The Otago has made a smart run. the effect of the attention bestowed upon her at Melbourne, where, after having been nine months in the water, she was docked, and had her bottom cleaned and recoated with Borthwick's patent composition. She left Sandridge at 2.30 p.m on the sth instant; passed Port Phillip Heads at 4.30 p.m, aud Swan Island at 2 p.m. next day; orossed the Middle ground with weather nearly clock-calm, and beautifully fine; averaged 10 \ knots per hour, and arrived at the Bluff at 10 a.m on the 10th; landed passengers and cargo, and left at 5.p.m; had fine light weather along the coast; left Port Chalmers at 3 p m on the 12th, experienced fine weather and light winds along the coast, and arrived at Lyttelton at 9.30 a.m. on the 13th, and was berthed at the Gladstone Pier.
