Just before the lecturer stepped on the platform, an anxious committeeman approached him and whispered that no package had arrived, and perhaps something else might be substituted for the proposed experiments. “It is all right,” smilingly replied the lecturer, “I. have the nitro-glyceriue and all the other things with me in my pockets. ” That committeeman at once remembered that it was lodge night, that he had agreed to see his wife home from class meeting, and that he was not interested in the lecture that night anyhow.
