The two little girls, named Griffin, aged eleven and eight years respectively, lost in the bush near Taipo on Wednesday last, have not been found. Detective Browne, who went by the coach to Taipo on Friday, reports having joined the search party that day. The search was' continued till night, but no trace of the children could be got beyond the place where they bad cut down some broad leaf.and eaten some bread and butter, which they took with them wrapped in a newspaper. The newspaper was found with some of the butter attached. On Wednesday the children were in the bush looking after some cows, and came home about noon, thinking their dinner would be ready. As it was not prepared they took some bread and butter and returned. No f trace of the girls has bean found. The elder I girl knew well the bush where they are loot, and on several occasions has piloted her rather out of it when he was going astray. The children were well wrapped with warm ( clothing when they left.
