The double collision at Abbotts Bipton will prove more serious in its financial consequences to the Great Northern Railway Company than roost persons would Imagine! The estimated loss to the company in repairs, restoration?, and compensations will scarcely fall short of £IOO,OOO, The following is from the Sin Vary Record “ The Wrexham Board of Guardians have for some years past ceased to administer stimulants in their workhouse, and the guardians of St George’s, Hanover square, London, have just had a discussion on the advitability of adopting a similar course. Milk and eggs are given instead of stimulants, at an extra cost of abont £2O a year, and £IOO are saved annually. The inmates of the workhouse are said to like the change, and to bs better in health since it has been adopted.”
