A woman named Arnold, charged with the manslaughter of a child at Inglewood, has been committed for trial.
The Glenelg railway showed a profit of over £4OOO for the half-year. A dividend of 10s per share has been declared.
The Victorian Executive have decided that Duffief, convicted of criminally assaulting his two children at Sandhurst, is to be hanged, A man named McMahon, charged with a similar offence, has had his sentence commuted to sixteen years’ imprisonment, the first three years in irons. The Bench at Brisbane has dismissed the charge against the master of the ship Penrith for not taking due steps to save the life of a seaman who fell overboard during the voyage from Glasgow. A committee has been formed in Sydney to take action in reference to the proposed Italian immigration. The reward for information leading to the conviction of the Seymour Bank robber has been increased to £2OO. Dalby, convicted of rape at Balmain, has been sentenced to death.
