EXPOSING GOODS.
To the Editor of the Globe. Sir, —As one of the many who have been in the habit of exposing goods for sale, and been cautioned by the police to desist doing the same, may 1 enquire why no notice is taken of the iron mongers, cabinetmakers, and others, who also perpetrate the same offence ? Is it because they happen to be men of greater standing in society, or is it because the police do not care to run the risk of being snubbed by them ? Let any one look down the footpaths in Colombo or Cashel streets, and they will see an endless variety of shovels, bedsteads, &c, still being exposed. Why make fish of one and flesh of the other? It is not justice. I call it persecution unless all arc served alike. Yours, &c, P. PATERSON. Cashel street, May 24rd, 1876.
