POST-OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails close at Chief Post Office for the following places, as imder, subject to necessary alterations: — Tuesday, May 23. For the Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Taupo, at 8 p.m. For the Southern Torts of New Zealand, per Taranaki, at 8 p.m. Wednesday, the 24th, being a Post Office holiday, local mails usually despatched on that day will close at Ckristchurch on Tuesday, 23rd inst., at 8 p.m. IMPORTANT. On Tuesday, the 23rd in3t., the delivery window at the Christchurch Post Office will be open from 8.30 to 9 p.m. Residents in the city who obtain their correspondence by the letter carriers' delivery, can receive their letters by local mails on application at the window.
