The right of the revising officer to reject the alphabetical list of ratepayers as claims to vote was argued before the Revision Court today, and it was decided that the return of the name as ratepayer was a full and legal qualification to be inserted on the roll under the tiegietration Amendment Act of last session. Mr H. S. Meyers has been elected member of the Harbor Board. A Bay of Islands telegram says that the whaler Coral reports the Gazelle as having taken eighty barrels of sperm oil in the week after leaving the Bay. The Coral has taken 190 barrels of sperm oil since leaving there a year ago. Wellington, May 19. The fore-and-aft schooner Mile, owned by Mr J. Kenner, Lyttelton, with a cargo of timber from Pelorus Sound to Wellington, was completely wrecked at Pencarrow Heads yesterday morning, the hull having since been completely smashed into matchwood. The cause of the wreck was that her sails were blown away, and having no spare ones on board she was set on shore. The captain and crew were washed off the rigging, but they managed to get ashore much cut and bruised. It is uncertain whether the vessel was insured, but the cargo was not. Wellington, May 20.
