The Sea Rip was berthed where the Marmion has been lying, yesterday The ship Loch Awe, chartered by the N.Z.S. Co. arrived at Port Chalmers, from London, on April 30th, after a voyage of 86 days. She experienced fair weather during the passage. The smirt schooner Mary Melville, Captain Urquhart, reports leaving Picton at 1 p in, on Monday last, and having a fresh N.W. breeze to Kaikoras, whicli were reached same day at midnight. Light winds and calms prevailed for 12 hours, after which had N. W. and westerly winds to arrival yesterday at noon. A correspondent writing to Mr E. J. T. Ford of this city, informs him that the sad accident which happened to file Cora Linn, happened during a fog. As this circumstance has not been mentioned in any of the reports prcvim-ly received, the information may Interest some of our renders. The fine barque Hopeful, Captain Luly. cleared at the Customs yesterday afternoon for London with a cargo of grain shipped by C W. Turner. 1 ITlie correspondent of the “ New Zealand Herald” states that the Walroa, one of the New Zealand Shipping Company’s new ships, left London for Canterbury on March 10th. Captain J. Joss is in command. The ship brings seventeen chief cabin, twenty second cabin, and a number of steerage pasicngers. The Wallabi, s.s, from Wanganui, bound to Dunedin with horses, put into Akaroa In distress yesterday, having met with an accident to her boiler. She sailed same evening. The splendid steamer Hawea, Captain Sinclair, left Port Chalmers at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, and arrived here at 10.30 a.m. yesterday, having experienced strong head winds on the passage up the coast. She was moored at the Gladstone Pier, and discharged 25 tons of cargo and too* iu 120 urns, most of which is cargo shipped by the N.Z.S Co for the Hurunui, ship, now lying at Wellington, Sailed for Northern ports last e vening a* 5,50 p.m. The smart little s.s Tul reports leaving Rangitfkei at 1 p.m, arriving at Foxton at 2 p.m, leaving at 3 p.m, arriving at Wellington at 11 p.m, same day, left Wellington at 8 pm. Monday, reached Kaljcoras at 8 a.m. Tuesday, left 1.30 p m, arrived at Lyttelton at 11.15p.m same night. Experienced light winds and variable weather throughout run. Sailed South at 6 p.m. The Marmion left her berth at No 2 Wharf yesterday. the Peri taking her place. The Queen of the South went on to Dampier’s Bay beach yesterday morning, to be cleaned, and the Victoria was raoore I at her berth at the Screw Pile Jetty. The Queen of the South will be berthed at Peacock’s Wharf to finish taking in her grain for Mauritius, for which portjjshe (clears on Saturday next. The Circe was moved out to make room for the Mary Ann Annison to discharge at No 2 Wharf. The Jane Hannah left the Breastwork yesterday. Her berth was filled by the Agnes Donald. ENGLISH SHIPPING.
