CHRISTCHURCH. Friday, April 21.

I Before G. L. Lee. Esq., and Dr Deamer, J.P.'s.] Larceny.—Andrew Findlay was charged with slealing a pair of boots, the property of Benjamin Hall, of Colombo street, oh Wednesday afternoon last. The shopman in prosecutor's shop deposed to having hung the boots in question on a nail just outside the door. About five o'clock he missed them. He identified the boots produced as those which had been stolen. Mr Stewart, the pawnbroker, deposed to prisoner having pawned the boots at his establishment on Wednesday evening. In defence, prisoner said he had been drinking, and did not remember anything at all about it. He called his employer, who gave him a very good character. The Bench ordered him to be imprisoned for one month.
