POLICE ! POLICE !! POLICE !!!
To the Editor of the Globe. Sib, —Your correspondent on the above haa no doubt an itch for writing, but he haa an another object, and that is he wants to let the public know that he attends private balls, and consequently must be classed A I in the social scale. Had he paid a little more attention to the commonest logic, such a production would never have appeared. Why it would not weigh an atom, balance it how you will. That onerous class, called “ Constables, ” by the vulgar “ Blue-coats,” are first condemned for efficiency, and in the next line upbraided for inefficiency. No doubt he must have written that happy production about 2.30 a.m., when he was full of home brewed. I would not touch upon your leader, on this subject, further than to recommend the worthy composer an immediate increase of stipend. Yours, kc, OBSERVER.
