MAGISTRATES’ COURTS.
CHRISTCHURCH. Tuesday, April 11. (Before G. L. Mellish, Esq, R.M.) Drunk and Disorderly. Patrick O’Neill, for being drunk and disorderly, was fined 5s ; Joseph Macquire, who added to his offence that of indecently exposing himself, was ordered to pay 28s; and Franklin Robinson and W. Stony, charged with drunken and disorderly conduct, were fined, the former 5s and the latter 10s.
Embezzlement. —F. M. Marley, late a sergeant in the police force, was brought up on remand, charged with embezzlement. Mr Cowlishaw, Provincial Solicitor, said in this case he did not intend to offer any evidence on the part of the auditor. The prisoner had [a locus penitentioi under the statute. The case was accordingly dismissed.
