POST-OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails close at Chief Post Office for the following places, as under, subject to necessary alterations; — Saturday, April 8. For Akaroa, per Beautiful Star, at 11.35 a.m. ; late letters, 11.55 a.m. ; railway station, 12.25 p.m. train. For Dunedin, per Taupo, at 11.35 a.m. ; late letters, 11.55 a.m. ; railway station, 12.25 p.m. train. Mails per R.M.S. Arawata will close as under;— For the United Kingdom, via Southampton and Brindisi, and Foreign Countries, via the United Kingdom, at 3 p.m, ;• late letters, 3.20 p.m. For the Australian Colonies and Otago, at 3 p.m.; late letters, 3.20 p.m. For Point de Galle, India, China, and the East, Aden, Mauritius, Reunion, Natal, Cape of Good Hope, Suez, the Mediterranean ports, and America, at 3 p.m. Late letters can be posted at the railway guard’s van up to 4 p.m., and the steamer v, ill sail immediately after the arrival of the train. Posting registered letters, obtaining money orders, 2 p.m. ; newspapers and books at 2,30 p.m. J. J. FITZGIBBON, Chief Postmaster.
