RIFLE MATCH.
A match came off yesterday between the Cavalry and the City Guards, a challenge having been forwarded --to the latter by the former corps. The weather was very unfavorable for shooting, as a strong wind was blowing, with rain. As only five of the Cavalry mustered on the range, it was decided to strike off one from the side of the Guards, although the challenge was for six men aside. The ranges were 200, 300, and ‘IOO yards, standing at 200, any position at 300 and 400 yards, regulation targets. The following were the scores made : CAVALKT.
