Cr Wearing, after referring to the chairman of the protective works committee haying prepared no statement as to how this subject was to be dealt with, laid on the table a plan showing in what way it could be most advantageously accomplished, and entered into a minute statement as to the manner in which earth might be taken from the inside of the embankments at various points in such a way as not to impair the stability of the work, or cause the river to scour. On the mot’on of Cr Parnham, seconded by Cr Wearing, the Council was resolved into commiltee, Cr Blackwell being chairman, After a full discussion on the foregoing matter, it resumed.
