MEETING OF SENATE. Monday, Mabch 6. The Senate met at 2 p.m. Present—The Chancellor, Vice-Chancel lor, the Primate, Revs J. C. Andrew and W. Johnston, Hons J. B. Aclacd, W. Gisborne, and *5. W. Stafford, and Mr Heale. The report of the committee appointed to investigate the question of the 2000 acres promised to be reserved at Tauranga was received and read as follows :—" Your committee recommend—l. That it is not desirable to take present action in respect to the reserve promised at Tauranga. 2. That a Bill be introduced in the next session of the General Assembly for the purpose of vesting in trustees, to be agreed upon between the Government and the Senate, the lands reserved for promoting higher education in certain provinces, and of enabling the same to be administered for the objects for which they were reserved." The report was ordered to be considered at next sitting day. The report of the select committee appointed to consider the position of the undergraduates who were gazetted as having failed to pass, was considered. On the motion ,of the Bev J. C. Andrew, further consideration of the report was postponed till next sitting day. On the motion of the Vice-Chancellor, the, Senate resolved itself into committee to consider the Chancellor's report. The Senate resumed, and the chairman reported progress and asked leave to lit again. The committee was ordered to sit again at 10.30 a.m. to-morrow. The Senate then adjourned,
