Advices from South America state that the revolution in Uruguay continues, and the insurgents are still in force in the in* terior of the country. Salto and Paysandu are not considered as safe from attack. The friendly reception accorded to the Uruguayan Envoy at Buenos Ayres leads the Government to hope that the Argentine authorities will endeavor to prevent aid reaching the insurgents. The new Ministers who come into office in Paraguay represent the party who seek the support of the Argentine Republic. A despatch from Buenos Ayres, dated October 27th, says President Avellaneda, who has been making a tour in the interior, has been everywhere cordially received In the eastern provinces he was well received by the Vice-President, Dr Acosta. The political and commercial condition of the country continues unfavourable. The Buenos Ayres journals continue to support the revolutionary party in Uruguay.
