CHRISTOHURCH. Saturday, Feb 26. (Before G. L. Mellish, Esq, R.M.) Drunkenness —Samuel Laird, charged with being drunk and disorderly, was fined ss. Charge op Forgery.—John Turrell was brought up on a charge of forgery. Inspector Feast said that he did not rntend to proceed with the charge of forgery, and as an information had been laid against the prisoner for obtainiug goods under false pretences, he would ask that the prisoner might be remanded until Monday, for the attendance of a witness. TJie Bench remanded the prisoner accordingly. *

EAIAPOI. Fbiday, February 25. (Before 0. Whitefoord, Esq, 8.M.) Dbunk and Disobdebly.—B. W. Ferguson, arrested by Constable Haldane for this offence, was brought into court in a state of drunkenness, and ordered to be locked up for twenty-four hours, and brought before the court on the following day.

RANGIORA. Fbiday, February 25. Before A. H. Cunningham, Esq.) Larceny.—William Thompson, arrested by Sergeant Morice for stealing a hat from the Junction Hotel. The case was of a very trivial nature, and it appeared that no larceny was intended. Prisoner, who had been locked up since Wednesday night, wag discharged.
