ROAD BOARDS.

LINCOLN.

A meeting of this Board was held at the office, Prebbleton, on Thursday, 24th instant. Present—Messrs J. N. Tosswill (chairman), Marchant, Maskrey, and Wills. The surveyor read his report. It was resolved to call for tenders for the following works : South road, near Weedon's, forming 20 chains, more or less ; Waterholes road, forming 114 chains; Perryman's road, forming 60 chains, more or less ; Tancred and Halswell road, near Dunn's, forming 80 chains, more or less ; Dawson's road, metalling 43 chains ; Townshend's and Blackler's drains, &c, cleansing and maintaining for 12 months ; Gerken and Crook's road, forming 10 chains, more or less, opposite section 10254. The Board also decided to expend £SO towards putting a bridge over the Biver Halswel', near the flax mills, provided that the Halswell Boad Board contribute a similar amount, and that those interested give the land necessary to make an approach to the bridge. Correspondence was read as follows :—From Mr Coop, of Spring Vale saw mills, enclosing a list of timber now lying at Lincoln station yard. Prom the Secretary for Public Works, requesting to be informed as to the name of the chairman, and the name and salary of the surveyor or clerk. Frem the BegistrarGeneral, inclosing a form of statistics of the receipts and expenditure during the past year, and requesting that it may be rilled up. From the Provincial Auditor, also inclosing a form of statistics to be filled up. The surveyor informed the Board that the requisite forms had been filled up and duly forwarded ; that he had written to Mr Coop, informing him that the Board were not wanting timber at present. A letter was also received from the Secretary for Public Works, informing the Board that as the contractors for cleansing the river Halswell have failed to take up their contract, fresh tenders have been called for. The paysheet, amounting to £136 14s, having been passed for payment, the Board adjourned until Thursday, the 9th March, 1876.
