The nominations for the Taranaki Hurdle Handicap of 50 sovs ar e—Mr Mcßae’s Medora, aged ; Mr Day’s Supplejack, 6 yrs ; Mr Quinlivan’s JBrigham Young, 4 yrs ; Mr Mart’s Butcher Boy, and Gazelle, aged; Mr Elliot’s Darkie, aged. Wellington, February 15, Sir D. McLean and Mr E. Richardson will be ( sworn in to day. Mr Reynolds has resigned. Sir J. Vogel is Premier, Treasurer, Post-master-General, and Telegraph Commissioner ; Major Atkinson is Minister of Immigration, Commissioner of Crown Lands, and Commissioner of Customs; Mr Bowen, Commissioner of Stamps and Minister of Justice. The others remain as before. Sir J. Vogel will only hold the office of Post-master-General till another Minister is appointed. A meeting of the consignees of the Border Chief was held this afternoon, and the following committee formed, viz ;—Messrs Ballantyne, Nathan, and Mills, to address the agents of the shipping company on the subject of the delay in settlement. Wellington Artillery—The following are the complete results of the late series of carbine matches fired by this company against other corps : —Christchurch match— Wellington, 733 ; Christchurch, 631 ; majority for Wellington, 102. Napier match— Wellington, 732 ; Napier, 678 ; majority for Wellington, 54, Nelson match—Wellington, 766 ; Nelson, 610 ; majority for Wellington, 156, Dunedin match—Wellington, 718 ; Dunedin, 649 ; majority for Wellington, 69. Invercargill match—Wellington, 757 ; Invercargill, 624 ; majority for Wellington, 113. Auckland match—Wellington, 763 ; Auckland, 656 ; majority for Wellington, 107, Geeymouth, February 15. There is no further trace of the missing mail bag. Diligent search is going on. The Government offer a reward of £25 for the recovery of the mail, or information that will lead to the conviction of the robbers. Dunedin, February 15. Owing to the neglect of the Temperance Hall Company to provide proper means of exit, the City Council for some time have refused to license it. The Marionettes are therefore performing without license, and the Council have determined to take proceedings against the Hall Company. The Council has refused to give free gas to the Athenaeum. Bluff, February 15. Sailed—Christian McAusland, ship, for London, with twenty-four passengers, 4645 bales wool, 90 tuns sperm oil, and five casks sealskins, THIS DAY’S TELEGRAMS.
