Affiliation. —Harry O’Neal was charged on warrant with having failed to support a child, of which he is the reputed father. Accused admitted the paternity, and expressed his willingness to contribute towards the child’s support. The Bench ordered him to pay 10s a week. Assault —The adjourned summons case of Archibald Hammill, for assaulting his wife, was called on. In reply to the Bench, the complainant said she wanted separate maintenance, and her husband to be bound over to keep the peace towards her. A witness called by defendant stated that Mrs Hammill’s conduct had not been of the best during her husband’s absence. He would have to find one surety in £25, and himself in a similar amount, to keep the peace for six months.
