(Per Prnts Ag»nuy.') Auckland, December 20. Arrived —The Cyphrenes, s.s, from the South, and sailed again for San Francisco at 7.30 p.m. The Florence, barque, from Dunedin; H.M.S. Sappho, from Wellington ; Llewellyn, from Levuka. Sailed—Colima, s.s, for Sydney; Taranaki, s.s, for the South to-day ; Lizzie Fox, barque, for Dunedin; Kate Brain, for Dunedin and Oamaru. December 21. Fraser and Tinne had everything ready to mend the Cyphrenes crank shaft, which was broken on her passage from Lyttelton. She arrived yesterday morning, and was repaired at once, and left at 7.30 for Kadavau. The Government inspector only licensed her to go there, not through to San Francisco. The Llewellyn has arrived from Fiji. A man-of-war was to leave New Caledonia early to annex the New Hebrides group to France. The Royal Engineers are doing a large amount of surveying, and building a sea wall along Levuka beach. A Fijian chief has been sentenced to thirty lashes. The mission schooner Jubilee has been wrecked at one of the Windward islands. No particulars are yet to hand. Grahamstown, December 21. The Thames Naval Rowing Club have decided to send a crew to Wellington to the Interprovincial Regatta, and two boats are to contest for the championship (£150) prize, and the other for the four-oared inrigged race (£100). Napier, December 21.
At the nomination of candidates to-day the show of hands was declared in favour of Sir l>. McLean and Mr Colenso. The numbers were —McLean, 79; Colenso, 59; Stuart, 58; Uussell (W, R.), 40; Ferars, 11. Mr Buchanan withdrew from the poll on the 30th ult, Wellington, December 20, At the settling uj> for the races, £llls were paid over. The following were the principal winners ; Redwood, £535 ; Walker, £140; Delamain, £125 ; Nosworthy, £IOO ; the others ranging from JBIO to £B. Subscriptions is being started on behalf of the boy Osborne, thrown from Voltaire while riding the Hutt Park ftakes. Nelson, December 20. Messrs Curtis and Sharp were retun cd for the city of Nelson to-day, without opposition. Dunedin, December 20, The elections took place to-day. No business was doing, the excitement being intense. The result of the poll was as follows: — Mr Maoandrew, 891; Mr Stout, 80-5 ; Mr Larnach, 843 ; Mr Reynolds, 470 ; Mr Macassy, 409 ; Mr Fish, 238. Messrs Maoandrew, Stout, and Larnach, put forward by the anti-central league, were thus elected. The difference between Mr Reynolds ai d the three elected has caused immense surpiiae.

At the South District rifles, first stage in the colonial firing to-day, Mills made 97; Miller, 95; Mann, 92; out of a possible 112, Mills, at 200 yards, mad 27, out of a possible 28; 20 at 400 yards, 26 at 500 yards, 23 at GOO yards. M. Fleury died at Calcutta on October 31st. The opera company are doing well.
