H.A.C.B. SOCIETY.

To the Editor of the Globe.

Sir,—ln your local notices in your issue of the 10th instant, under the heading of the " H.A.C.B. Society," my name appears as having been nominated for an office bearer in the said society. Your report may probably be correct, but I wish to state that several of the influential members of the society waited upon me to request me to take office, I, for private reasons, declined the'honor intended to be conferred on me.

Whoever proposed and seconded my nomination did so without my knowledge and consent, and by the laws of the society the presiding officers at that meeting could not accept my nomination, in fact, they have rendered themselves liable to hues lor doing so. By inserting this you will oblige, Yours, &<:, JUSBPH B, L'ULAIH,
