They trust you will receive them as an evidence not only of their deep appreciation of your social qualities, but also of their recognition of your ability as an artist.—Liverpool, September Bth, 1875.' The chairman in making the presentation said that Mr Hall had endeared himself to every one because he had never assumed a position which did not rightly belong to him, and because ho had invariably behaved as a true gentleman. Mr Hall, in acknowledging the presentation, spoke of the invariablekindness he had received in Liverpool since he first set foot on the boards of the Liver Theatre, twenty-eight years ago, and said the testimonial would always remind hiin of his many kind friends in Liverpool. ' The Drama' was acknowledged by Mr J. F. M'Ardle, and ' The Stage' by Mr L. Courtenay, A very pleasant evening was spent, and many expressions were given during the evening for the success of Mr Hall during his tour.
