Mails close at Chief Post Office for the following places, as under, subject to necessary alterations: — Friday, November 10. For Calcutta, per ship Lactura, at 11.45 a.m. Correspondence must be addressed per Lactura. For Dunedin, per Taranaki, at 11.35 a.m.; late letters, 11.55 a.m. ; railway, 12.25 p.m. Saturday, November 20th. For Akaroa, Timaru, and Dunedin, per Wanganui, at 11.35 a.m. ; late letters, 11.55 a.m.; rail-way station, 12.25 train. For Northern ports, per Ladybird, at 1.45 a.m. ; late letters, 2.5 a.m. ; railway, 2.30 p.m. For the Chatham Islands, per the schooner Cleopatra, at 11.45 a.m. The next British and Foreign mails via Brindisi and Southampton, will close at Christchurch on or about the 22nd day of November.
