In consequence of the S.E. gale down the coast, which would prevent the Maori’s landing cargo at Timaru, that steamer did not sail yesterday, but goes at 4 p.m. to-day. The topsail schooner Lady Don, hence, arrived at Timaru on the 27th. She was expected to load produce at that port for the West Coast. The schooner Cleopatra, from Timaru, arrived at Wellington on the 27th. After discharging cargo she was to leave for the Sound, to load with timber for Lyttelton, The schooners Alert and Maid of Otago, hence, arrived—the former on the 27th, at Oamaru, the latter on the 29th, at Timaru.
