Mails close at Chief Post Office for the following places, as under, subject to necessary alterations: — Friday, October 22. For Dunedin, per Maori, at 11.35 a.m. ; late letters, 11.55 a.m. ; railway, 12.25 p.m. train. For Wellington, Nelson, and Sydney, per Omeo, at 1.45 p.m. ; late letters, 2.5 p.m. ; railway, 2.30 p.m. Saturday, October 23. Mails per Taranaki will close as under : For United Kingdom, via San Francisco, at 9 p.m. For the Continent of Europe, Sandwich Islands, America, British and Foreign West Indies, &c, &c, at 8.30 p.m. For all the Northern Ports of New Zealand, at 9 p.m. Newspaper box will close at 8 p.m. Registered letters and money orders, at 5 p.m. Sunday. October 24. Supplementary mail, via San Francisco, at 8.30 a.m. Monday, October 25. Mails per Albion will close as under : For United Kingdom via Suez, Brindisi, and Southampton, at 3 p.m. ; late letters, 3.20 p.m. ; railway, 4 p.m. train. For Continent of Europe, via Suez, India, China, and the East, &c, at 3 p.m. ; late letters, 3.20 p.m. ; railway, 4 p.m. train. For Australian colonies and Southern provinces, at 3 p.m. ; late letters, 3.20 p.m.; railway, 4 p.m. train. For registered letters, money orders, and newspapers, at 2 p.m. J. J.
