October 20 Samuel Merritt, barque, Holden, for Newcastle, N.S W., in ballast. October 20—Joliba, barque, Scouler, for Newcastle, in ballast. Owing to a sudden change in the wind last night, neither the Waikato, Joliba, Samuel Merrit, Excelsior, or Ethel, though all |got underweigh, were able to get clear of the harbor.
