Union Bowing Club.—A general meeting of the members of the Union Rowing Club, was held on Saturday at Warnex’s Hotel. Mr H. H, Hennah occupied the chair, and there was a good attendance. The first business was the consideration of a proposition, given notice of by Mr Sharland, to the effect that the entrance fee for members should be increased. In the absence of Mr Sharland, Mr Webb moved—“ That rule No 6 be altered, making the entrance fee one guinea instead of ten shillings.” Mr Barnes seconded the motion, which was carried. The chairman gave an account of what had been done by the committee appointed to arrange for the opening day of the season The secretary (Mr Webb) for the unavoidable absence of the treasurer, and read a statement of the assets and liabilities of the club up to the end of the last financial year. From this, it appears that there is a balance to the credit of the club of £IBO, The secretary explained that this amount was now increased by £l2O, the value of the new shed, After a long discussion on the financial position of the club, the meeting
