Of late there has been every promise of a revival in the trade on the river, judging by the number of vessels and the frequent trips of the Clyde s.s. As evidence of the dispatch given to the steamer, it may be stated that a few days ago it entered the river as the tide was making, and was enabled to leave with a full cargo of grain on board at high water. The bar never was in better order. It only remains for a few of the merchants totake action in improving about half a mile at the upper portion ol the river, which could be easily carried out at very ittle cost.
