Mails close at Chief Post Office for the following places, as under, subject to necessary alterations: — Wednesday, September 22. For Northern ports of New Zealand, per Taranaki, at 1.45 p.m.; late, 2.5 p.m.; railway 2.30 p.m. For Port Chalmers and Dunedin, per Ladpbird, at 11.25 a.m. ; late letters, 11.45 a.m,; railway station, 12.25 noon. The next English mail via Suez will close at Christchurch on or about the 27th imt, and via San Francisco on or about the 26th inst, J. J. FITZGIBBON, Chief Postmaster.
