MAGISTRATES’ COURTS.
CHRISTCHURCH. Wednesday, September 15. [Before G. L. Mellish, Esq, R.M.] Drunk and Resisting the Police. — James Clark, alias the Brusher, a wellknown character, was charged with being drunk and resisting Constable Laird after he had arrested him in High street. There was a long list of convictions against him, and he had only been released from prison on Saturday last. The accused pleaded hard for one more chance, when lie would leave the town. His Worship cautioned him not to appear before him again, and inflicted a fine of ss.
